Just thought I would share with you some of the projects I worked on during the first 2 weeks of December. I finally remembered to do some before and after pics. This potato bin became a Christmas gift for a friend to give as a Christmas present.
AFTER
At one of my craft shows a lady ask if I painted on anything...and I told her as long as it doesn't move I will give it a try. So she brought me her father's gardening hat (she said he had past away several years ago) She said he was a WWII veteran and he was a very patriotic man.
As I was painting this hat I thought about all the time he must have spent in his garden wearing this hat....I honestly hated to paint it.
With her approval this is what we chose..... AFTER
This lady also had a picnic basket that was her mother's and she wanted a winter scene painted on it. (Before)
(After)
Another lady wanted a mailbox painted for her father (with hound dogs chasing a rabbit...he raised these type of dogs) this was a nightmare to finish and I do hope she was satisfied with it. (am always afraid someone will not be satisfied with the finished product) With my DH help it was finally completed before Christmas....after several attempts to varnish and seal the mailbox we ended up using an automotive clear coat....it should withstand all types of weather....just hope some kid with a baseball bat doesn't come near it.
Oh I forgot to mention horses and dogs are not something I do and this was the very first time for dogs.
I tried to post this yesterday but for some reason the blogger would not allow me to upload images. Has anyone other than me had this problem.
I will try to post again soon.
Please post comments....I just love hearing from you.
Blessings,
Kathy

I get so many compliments on the signboard that you painted for me....I love it!!
I think that the garden hat is the best...so many memories with that hat! It brings tears to my eyes!
I want one of those potato bins...I keep searching goodwill and thrift stores for them! Patience is a virtue and will eventually pay off!

Wow, you did a wonderful job...everything is sooo nice! You should be very proud of your work...you're very talented.
OMGoodness... you are Truly a Talented Lady, indeed. I adore the Hard Hat w/ Sheep, I have a weakness for Sheep though.
Thank you dearly for stopping in today & with such kind & thoughtful words of encouragement.
Kentucky Hugs to you... Hoping you a Wonderful Winter Weekend, Pamela
You are a wonderful artist! I love the garden hat! My dad was in WWII and I know how much their wartime memories and the items they brought home, after bravely serving their country, truly shaped their lives.
I found one of those bins at Goodwill, except mine was for pet food, which I needed for my kitty, and I painted mine black and highlighted the bowl of food on the front. Not as beautiful as yours, though!
Kathy, what talent you have been blessed with. I love them all and couldn't choose a favorite. I'm glad to see you posting. Have a wonderful weekend.
hugs,
Pam
Kathy,
Don't you dare apologize for missing "Whatcha Working On Wednesdays". It's totally okay and you won't be punished for it! Many of us are trying to get back into Norm after the holidays. I'm just starting to pick up my crafting again. I was just so burnt out!
You did a wonderful job on everything you painted. Those are the types of requests that I get but I don't like doing scenes like that. It's hard explaining that to my Dad and Gram. They just don't get that I can paint but that doesn't mean every type of painting, you know?
Have a wonderful weekend!
Leslie
OMGosh Kathy your painting is so wonderful! Amazing work. I always wished I could paint but my work doesn't look like anything when I'm finished! LOL
I'm sure the hat will be a wonderful memory of her father. Nice work.
THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY BLOG...HOW SWEET OF YOU.
I'm putting you in my FAVORITES!
Hugs, karen
